ProStar Clevo P650RE gaming laptop Review
The Prostar Clevo P650RElaptop is an iteration of its predecessor, the P650RE, but with an updated CPU and chipset that makes for an even more powerful, lightweight beast of a laptop.
6th Generation i7 CPU
Tackle anything and look good doing it. The P650RE’s slim body and modern aesthetics tout a 6th gen i7 processor and DDR4 RAM, both drawing less power than previous hardware while maintaining faster speeds and more efficient processing capabilities. With the faster clock speeds and greater capacity of RAM as well, the P650RE is as powerful as it is stylish.
The Prostar Clevo P650RE gaming laptop incorporates NVidia G-Sync, a technology that syncs the monitor’s refresh rate and the GPU’s frame buffer. Issues such as screen tearing are a thing of the past, and what’s more, the P650RE can output to up to 3 external monitors, taking visuals to a whole new extreme.
Storage Speed at its Fastest
Utilizing modern PCIe solid state technology, the P650RE can accommodate a PCIe Gen 3, x4 lanes SSD. Take this with the P650RE’s ability to be outfitted with up to three additional drives – one additional m.2 drive and two 2.5” – and its RAID capability, and slow or limited storage nearly becomes unheard of.
Trustworthy Cooling System
A computer can be made to operate fast, but that doesn’t get you very far if it overheats. Thermal overload causes the laptop to shutdown, and can even inflict damage to the hardware. In the P650RE, the cooling system has been engineered with the slim, powerhouse in mind, keeping the laptop cool so that it treats you well for long and intense sessions.
Beauty, meet Beast.
The slim body, vibrant 15.6” screen, and performance potential aren’t the only things that place the P650RE a cut above the rest. With a customizable, backlit gaming keyboard, next gen Onkyo audio, and an amplified headphone port, this laptop shines in every area.
It’s no doubt that the P650RE gaming laptop boasts an impressive résumé, and thanks to outfitters like Prostar Computer, the laptop can see its full potential reached with a few upgrades. Though the system adopts many surface mounted components, rather than previous systems that incorporated modular equipment, on the same token, the laptop is impressively thin and impressively powerful.
